Shooters want bar open for longer

The Alice Springs Shooting Complex has applied for an amendment to its liquor licence that would allow alcohol to be sold from 10:00am.

The proposal also includes increasing the number of days alcohol can be served at the complex from three to five days a week.

Club president Wendy Kittle says the change is aimed at addressing increasing shooter numbers and liquor will not be sold at that hour of the morning.

"It is just the hours that we are able to trade within," she said.

"It just opens it up a bit more for us to use the club house as well as the shooting range."

She says the changes aim to cater for an increased demand from organisations that use the complex for functions.

"Whether the bar is open for alcohol sales or not, they don't always use it, but it is just an option," she said.
